NAC repairs narrow body aircraft and brings to Nepal

KATHMANDU, April 26:Nepal Airlines' narrow body aircraft, which was transferred to Israel for repair, will return to Kathmandu.

The narrow body '9N-AKX' with a seating capacity of 158 was grounded on November 13 owing to engine issues. On January 11, the NAC sent the plane to Israel to make the engine.

Devendra Pun, NAC spokesperson and technician, stated that the aircraft will land at Tribhuvan International Airport three months after it was flown to Israel.

'The pilots have already reached Israel. Aerospace Industries (IAI) is expected to hand over the aircraft, he stated.

The NAC does not have spare engines for both narrowbodies and widebodies. As a result, if there is an engine problem, the plane is grounded for several months.
