Bharatpur visit year-2024 has begun

CHITWAN, March 02:Bharatpur visit year-2024 began on Friday. This year's visit was opened on the banks of the Narayani River by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

The Bharatpur metropolis has launched a tourism promotion campaign called 'Ghumau Bharatpur'. Prime Minister Dahal launched the campaign, stating that it will help to sustain the economy. He stated that the Ghumau Bharatpur campaign will promote the arrival of domestic and foreign tourists, so contributing to the overall development of tourism in the country.

"This program plays an important role in improving the economy and tourism affected by Corona," he said, adding, "Chitwan is the center of tourism." Along with tourism in Bharatpur, numerous more tourist destinations have been recognized. If tourism can be increased by marketing it, the economy will benefit.

Former Prime Ministers KP Sharma Oli, Madhav Kumar Nepal, Jhalnath Khanal, Sher Bahadur Deuba, and Khilraj Regmi all attended to promote the inaugural program. All four of them voiced their hope that the visit year will assist the country recover from the economic downturn.

Before the inaugural ceremony, processions and tableaus were staged across Bharatpur. Thousands of people joined the rally. They demonstrated the culture of many castes.

Mayor Renu Dahal announced that the tourist year has begun in order to ensure the city' long-term economic prosperity through tourism.

She stated that tourism hotspots in and around the metropolis will be promoted collaboratively with the private sector and organizations.

Mayor Dahal stated that the promotion of Meghauli, Patihani, Gyaneshwar, Bisahajari Lake, Devghatdham, Narayani river bank, Chauki Danda, as well as other district tourism hotspots, Nawalpur's Gaindakot, and tourist areas in Devghat Rural Municipality, has been organized.

"We are promoting not only tourism, religious and cultural tourism but also education, health, development, cooperatives and other sectors with tourism," she went on to say.

She stated that she has formed a sisterly relationship with the Madi Municipality to boost tourism.

She stated that the package will also promote Madi's religious and tourist regions, Ratnanagar's Sauraha, Ichchakamana's Updardangangadhi, Gaindakot's Maulakalika, and the Devghat area.

She stated that Diyalo Bungalow will be open to the public during the visit year. She stated that because a tender has been issued for the upgrade of Diyalo Bungalow, work will begin to open it to the general public in the upcoming month of Baisakh.

A wildlife rescue center is being developed in Bharatpur-13 with the purpose of attracting visitors this year. This is the metropolis' attempt to exhibit tourists the rescued endangered tigers.

Mayor Dahal stated that development on the international cricket stadium will begin once the tender is called in a few days. She stated that the under-construction stadium, cruise ship on the Narayani River, paragliding from Chauki Danda, and Maula Kalika cable car will all draw tourists.

"Also, we expect an increase in the number of internal and external tourists entering Chitwan National Park from Patihani and Meghauli within the metropolis during the visit year," Dahal went on to say.

By 2024, Bharatpur hopes to welcome 200,000 foreign and 500,000 domestic tourists. There are hotels that can accommodate 7,500 tourists per day in the metropolis and 15,000 tourists per day in the Chitwan and Gaindakot municipalities combined.

The Nepal Tourism Board will promote Bharatpur Visit Year. Chief Administrative Officer Narendra Kumar Rana stated that 51 programs are scheduled to take place during the visit year.
