Bharatpur can be int'l tourism destination: Chair Nepal

BHARATPUR, March 02: Chairman of CPN (Unified Socialist), Madhav Kumar Nepal, has said Bharatpur could be developed as an international tourism destination. 

Addressing the 'Visit Bharatpur Year, 2024' programme organized on the Narayani riverbank on Friday, Chairman Nepal said both development and tourism potentials can be unlocked in Bharatpur.

"Natural diversity had enriched Chitwan. Presence of diverse culture, languages and ethnicities are also attractions to tourists," he reminded, lauding that Bharatupur Metropolitan City has stood first among the local levels in Nepal.

He, however, suggested Bharatpur to pay heed to other indications of development in addition to road infrastructure. 

Coordination and collaboration among federal, provincial and local levels is imperative to advance development, Chair Nepal added.

Political unity essential: Former PM Khanal

Moreover, noted leader of CPN (Unified Socialist) and former Prime Minister, Jhalanath Khanal, underlined the need of unity among all political parties so that development could be realized.

He viewed frequent changes in government had obstructed in fulfilling people's expectation. "We need to review the path we are treading. Where's the gap? If all are united, prosperity is possible," Khanal stressed. 

The former PM observed that activities were forwarded for development and transformation in Bharatpur.
