More than 97000 foreign tourists entered in February

KATHMANDU, March 01:In February 2024, 97426 foreign visitors entered Nepal.

In 2023, 73255 visitors visited Nepal. Tourist arrivals surged by 33% in February this year compared to last year.

In January 2024, Nepal received 79,100 tourists. In January 2023, 550,74 tourists visited Nepal.

In February, 25,578 Indian visitors arrived in Nepal. Which is up 39% from previous year. In February of last year, 18,401 Indians traveled to Nepal.

Nepal received the second-highest number of Chinese tourists in February, at 9,180. Similarly, 9089 Americans visited Nepal in February.

The tourism sector, which has been in crisis since 2019, has been progressively improving since 2023. In 2023, Nepal welcomed one million foreign tourists. The growth in arrivals is expected to be more positive in early 2024.
