Tourism entrepreneur Lhakpa Sonam Sherpa's autobiography "Himbu" released

KATHMANDU, March 01:Lhakpa Sonam Sherpa, chairman of the Yeti Group, a tourism and aviation entrepreneur, and climber, published his autobiography, Himbu, on Sunday. Kanchha Sherpa, the last surviving member of the first Everest climbing team, released the book on Sunday.

Author Sherpa has published 33 memoirs based on his biography. The book details his experiences in Nepal's tourism industry over a 50-year period. 

The SAS Trust produced this book, which detailed various aspects of his life.

Sherpa was born in Pangom village, Solukhumbu district, and began his career as a mess boy in the tourism business at the age of 13. After 50 years in the tourism industry, he has established himself as a leading tourism entrepreneur in Nepal.

Professor Mahesh Paudel, editor, and writer Yuvraj Nayaghare reviewed the book.

After performing different jobs, he worked on skiing in France before founding Thamserku Trekking in 1988. For the past 16 years, the company has been recognized as Nepal's greatest trekking company.

He is the founder of both Yeti Airlines and Tara Air. His organization operates hotels in a variety of districts. In 1987, the writer Sherpa made his first climb up Thamserku.

After climbing other mountains, after the age of 60, he successfully climbed all the highest mountains in the seven continents of the world. He has mentioned the experience of the Seven Summits in the book details.

He stated that writer Sherpa aims to become involved in social services through the Saas Trust in the future. The proceeds from the sale of Himbu books will be used to fund social programs conducted by Saas Trust.

He has also declared that the earnings from the book's sale will be donated to the organizations Hembu Thamichho Kiduk Kharikhola in Madhya Janmgaon, Temple Tripura Sundari Dolpa in the Himalayas, and Ghunsa Foundation Taplejung in the amount of one lakh.
