KATHMANDU:As part of the bank's corporate social responsibility, Global IME Bank Limited has continued the scholarship program for Global IME female students on the occasion of its 17th anniversary.

The bank has awarded scholarships to 35 Jehendar girls from impoverished groups who have completed class 6 and entered class 7 at various community and government schools as part of the Global IME student scholarship initiative.

The bank will award these girls with scholarships for their studies up to the 12th grade every year.

Under this scheme, the bank will pick 5 Jehendar female students from each region and award scholarships of 12,000 rupees per year to a total of 35 female students.

So far, the bank has contributed to the educational quality of female students through this program by offering scholarships to 105 people.

According to the bank, this initiative was implemented because education plays a vital part in the growth of society, and educating women will enhance societal awareness while also assisting women in becoming financially strong.

The bank hopes that this program will assist female students who have been forced to drop out of school owing to financial difficulties in completing their basic education.
