Sailung: Heaven on Earth (Photo Feature)
Sailung, located at the confluence Dolakha and Ramechhap, has religious, touristic, and cultural significance. Sailung Mountain, the highest peak in the Mahabharata range, is a scenic location from which to enjoy the view. Since there are 108 hillocks in this area, "Sai" means one hundred in Tamang language, while "Lung" means hillocks.
Mountains such as Mt.Annapurna, Mt.Dhaulagiri, Mt.Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Mt.Langtang, and Mt.Gourishankar may be seen from an elevation of 3,150 meters. Salung is a destination in itself for individuals who enjoy playing in the snow.
The distance between this location and Kathmandu is roughly 173 kilometers. From Mude, you must go 25 kilometers on a gravel road. The journey there takes about seven hours in total.
