Pokhara hotels provide a 20% discount for Phewa New Year Festival

KATHMANDU, March 17:The Hotel Association Pokhara Nepal has begun preparations for the 19th Phewa New Year Festival. This celebration takes place on the road from Lakeside Street No. 1 to Hallan Chowk from Chaitra 29th to the Baisakh 1st (April 11th  to April 13th).

Laxman Subedi, organizer and president of the association, declared that, in conjunction with the recognition of Pokhara as the tourist capital, the association's member hotels have offered a discount of up to 20% off their published prices in honor of the Nepal New Year. On the fourth of Chaitra, preparations were begun to establish Pokhara as the tourist capital. Coordinator Subedi clarified that the hotel room discount was announced for travelers in the new year.

The association has been conducting this festival on the occasion of Nepali New Year for the previous two decades, with the main slogan "Tourism, Culture, and Food". The Nepali New Year, like the English New Year, is celebrated with the same pomp during the holiday.

The event intends to boost Gandaki province's tourism by promoting Pokhara on a national and international scale, thereby revitalizing the hotel and tourism industry, which has yet to recover from the effects of covid-19.

Rajendra Dhakal, general secretary of the association and festival PR coordinator, stated that the festival will raise awareness of Gandaki province's ethnic costumes, lifestyle, food, and cultural characteristics in order to protect natural resources.
