I will make the view of private sector positive: FNCCI President Dhakal

KATHMANDU:The recently elected president of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Chandra Prasad Dhakal, has stated that the public's perception of the private sector will be favorable.

President Dhakal committed to prioritize five major priorities during his stint as FNCCI president following his inauguration on Thursday.

He stated that the process of changing the way people view the private sector has begun, and that the results will be visible in a few days. "Recently, I will take initiatives to increase the number of jobs lost due to external causes, including the covid pandemic, and to make the state's policy more business-friendly," he stated.

He stated that rather than disrespecting the FNCCI leadership, it is vital to work with everyone. President Dhakal committed to take steps to enhance policies aimed at attracting international investment.

President Dhakal commended another candidate for the position of senior vice president, Umesh Lal Shrestha, saying he had a big chest for consensus. He stated that the private sector made an effort to the end and unanimously chose the senior vice president, and that this has become an example to which the private sector might aspire.

According to the FNCCI constitution, Dhakal was automatically elected president. He took the oath of office and secrecy from the FNCCI's outgoing president, Shekhar Golchha, on Friday.
