NAC's A320 ' plane grounded' in Dubai due to engine problems

KATHMANDU, Feb 27: The A320-200 series narrow body aircraft of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has been grounded in Dubai. While flying from Dubai to Kathmandu, the right side of the engine overheated and was grounded.

NAC sources say that the matter of overheating in the engine of the plane with registration number '9N-AKW' is currently being studied and the possibility of the plane flying is low.

The plane was scheduled to be flown by Captain Deepu Jwarchan, a senior pilot of NAC. There was a problem with the engine of the same plane before.Some time ago, in another aircraft, the engine was changed due to a problem.

Now, the engineering team of NAC will further study the issue of whether the engine of the grounded plane should be replaced or if it can be repaired and flown.
