Owl festival to be held on Dhanusha from February 7

JANAKPUR, Jan 31:The 12th Nepal Owl Festival 2081 is set to take place in Dhanusha

The Owl and Huchil (Eagle Owl) Festival 2081 is scheduled for Mithila Bihari Municipalities Wards 2 and 3 in Dhanusha.

Dev Narayan Mandal, coordinator of the organizing committee, said that the event will take place on February 7 and 8. According to Mandal, the Mithila Wildlife Trust will organize the festival in collaboration with Friends of Nature.

This international Owl festival, which will take place only in Nepal, America, and Italy, intends to raise public awareness about the protection of the endangered Owl and Huchil.

Mandal, the event's coordinator, stated that admittance will be free, and Owl conservation awareness courses are being held at local schools in preparation for the festival.

According to the organizers, the festival will include bird and wildlife observation, local endangered games, cultural song and dance exhibitions, and dance and drama performances for owl conservation by students from the Institute of Forestry Studies in Pokhara.

This event has been held in Nepal since 2012.
