The industry has spent Rs 20.615 billion on employment in the past year, with family-run restaurants making up a significant portion of businesses.

The previous survey in 2060 focused on hotels and lodges, whereas this latest study, conducted in 2079 BS, includes homestays, hostels, catering services, and party palaces.

Deputy Chief Statistics Officer Dr. Hemraj Regmi emphasized that this is the first comprehensive survey of the hospitality industry. The data collection was conducted from 1st Shrawan 2079 BS to 30th Asadh 2080 BS.

The survey aims to provide a clearer picture of the industry’s economic impact, helping policymakers and businesses understand its role in employment and economic growth.
