Sichuan Airlines plans to operate regular commercial flights from Pokhara

KATHMANDU, Jan 31:Sichuan Airlines of China has begun preparations to launch three flights per week at Pokhara's International Airport. The airline, which launched its maiden passenger flightsfrom Pokhara to Kathmandu a month ago, is preparing up for regular commercial flights.
An employee of Sichuan Airlines' official general sales agency (GSA) for Nepal, Society International, said that they are working to operate regular flights to Pokhara within the next six months.
Sichuan Airlines is poised to start regular commercial flights to Pokhara. The main focus is on the market. It is currently being studied,' he said. "The company is studying the possibility of operating direct flights from Pokhara to various destinations including Australia via Chengdu."
Sichuan Airlines occasionally operates charter flights from Pokhara Airport.
On December 11, the airline flew from Pokhara International Airport to Kathmandu with 126 passengers. This was the first time a narrow-body aircraft had flown at full capacity from Pokhara Airport.
