Rena Rijal appointed DCEO of United Ajod Insurance

KATHMANDU:Rena Rijal, Deputy General Manager (DGM) of Sanima GIC Insurance Company, will join United Ajod Insurance Company as Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO). Rijal will officially join United Ajod during Basanta Paschami (February 3).

The DCEO position has been vacant at the insurance company for the past five months. The position of DCEO became vacant after the company's then-DCEO, Nabin Subedi, resigned on September 13.

According to the Insurance Institution's Corporate Governance Guidelines, 2080, the DCEO position in any insurance business shall be filled within three months of the vacancy occurring. Sub-section 3 of Section 28 of the Guidelines says that the DCEO position shall be filled within three months of the vacancy.However, the company did not fill the position after 5 months of being vacant.

Rina, who began working as an officer at Everest Insurance in 2057 BS, joined Kumari Bank after nine years. She began working for Kumari Bank as an assistant manager.

She quit Kumari Bank after working there for 11 years. She took a sabbatical during the Covid period. She returned to the insurance industry approximately four years ago. Rena joined Sanima Insurance as Deputy General Manager around four years ago, and she also held the same role in Sanima GIC, the company formed by the merger of Sanima and GIC.
