Number of visitors Increasing at International Mountain Museum

POKHARA, Jan 28:The number of foreign tourists visiting the International Mountain Museum in Pokhara, the tourist capital, has doubled from the previous year. In 2023, a total of 19,119 international tourists (excluding SAARC nations) visited the museum, with 22,470 visiting in 2024.
Executive Director Nirmala Neupane stated that the museum's materials eloquently reflect various facets of mountain tourism. According to her, foreign tourists who visit the museum would pay a ticket cost of Rs 750 per person.
Similarly, the ticket charge has been set at Rs 350 for nationals of SAARC nations, Rs 150 for domestic and other general public, and Rs 80 for students. He reported that the number of domestic and foreign tourists visiting the museum is increasing. He says that 95,862 people, including domestic and foreign tourists, visited the museum in 2024.
Arrangements have been made to acquire knowledge about the customs, clothing, art, and culture of the ethnic groups living in the region, as well as the geographical circumstances, etc., in the museum, which allows visitors to witness the Himalayas and diverse Himalayan activities.
