Armed Police Force honors first Mt. Everest climber from Nepal Police SSI Purushottam Nepali
KATHMANDU, Jan 22:On its establishment day, the Armed Police Force honored Senior Sub-Inspector (SSI) Purushottam Nepali, the first and only Nepal Police officer to scale Mount Everest.
He received the "IG APF Commendation" on the 24th Armed Police Force Day 2081. He had scaled the peak carrying the flag of International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), a joint organization of 196 countries. He also the first songwriter to scale Mount Everest.
He was honored for his role in contributions to the establishing of the Armed Police Force's Himalayan branch, according to the APF's headquarters.
Senior Sub-Inspector Purushottam Nepali was also awarded by INTERPOL in Vienna, Austria.
