Koshi Province's tourism sector more than ten billion in investment
KATHMANDU, Jan 21:The banking and financial sectors have invested Rs 10.39 billion in Koshi Province's tourism sector.
Recently, investment has expanded as hotels and restaurants have begun to open with modest investments not just in Biratnagar and Jhapa in Koshi Province, but also in the hilly districts.
According to Nepal Rastra Bank, financial institutions' investment in the tourism sector as of Asar 2080 (July 15, 2024) ranks third. Investment in the agricultural sector ranks first.
As of Asar 2080 (July 15, 2024), Rs 95.25 billion have been invested in the agriculture industry. Similarly, Rs 68.22 billion has been invested in the small and medium-sized industries, with tourism coming in third.
