Nepalese Delegation departs for renowned international tourism fair, FITUR 2025

KATHMANDU, Jan 20:A Nepalese delegation, led by the Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) in partnership with the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), departed for the globally renowned international travel trade expo, FITUR 2025, which will take place in Madrid, Spain, from January 22 to 26, 2025. The delegation is made up of over 50 representatives from over 25 organizations, including travel agencies, trekking companies, and hotel businesses, as well as NATTA and NTB officials.

The team is led by NATTA President Mr. Kumar Mani Thapaliya, with logistical and operational coordination managed by NATTA Joint Treasurer and FITUR Coordinator Mr. Dhak Nath Kafle and sub-coordinator Ms. Shradha Joshi.

This program aims to increase Nepal's prominence in the European tourism sector, which is a significant contributor to the country's tourism industry. Due to internal issues faced by the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), NATTA was appointed to represent Nepal at FITUR in 2024. For the 2025 edition, NTB has resumed its role in organizing Nepal's exhibition stall, while NATTA is in charge of designing the Nepal Pavilion within the exhibition hall, creating promotional materials in Spanish, and managing the selection, coordination, and oversight of participating businesses.

NATTA President, Mr. Kumar Mani Thapaliya, expressed to the media that FITUR 2025 is a significant opportunity for Nepal to display its cultural, natural, and adventure tourism products to the worldwide market. Such international events help to increase market reach, form new collaborations, and elevate Nepal's status as a top vacation destination. "A strong presence on these platforms is critical for the long-term development of our tourism industry."

He added, "The European market has enormous potential for Nepal's tourism sector. We hope to strengthen Nepal's position as a top international vacation destination by consistently participating in events such as FITUR. We are convinced that this year's participation will greatly help to strengthen and diversify our tourism sector."

FITUR is recognized as one of the largest and most influential travel trade fairs worldwide, attracting over 100,000 industry professionals, stakeholders, and decision-makers annually. It serves as an unparalleled platform for Nepal to highlight its tourism potential, develop economic activities, and create opportunities for collaboration with international partners.

The participation of the Nepalese delegation reflects the strategic partnership between NATTA and NTB, demonstrating their shared commitment to positioning Nepal on the global tourism map. Through the adoption of global trends, technologies, and best practices, this collaboration aims to drive sustainable growth and resilience within the sector.

The delegation’s presence at FITUR 2025 signifies Nepal’s untiring dedication to promoting its tourism industry on a global scale and highlights the long-term benefits of participating in such high-profile events.
