China announces Nepal Visit Year 2025 campaign
KATHMANDU, Jan 20:The opening ceremony of Visit Nepal Year 2025 and the Chinese New Year Carnival was successfully held on Saturday in Bhaktapur.
The event was graced by prominent figures, including the Chief Guest, Hon’ble Deepak Khadka, Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation; His Excellency Mr. Chen Son, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal; Mayor of Bhaktapur Municipality, Mr. Sunil Prajapati; and NTB CEO, Deepak Raj Joshi. Together, they unveiled the official logo for the Chinese New Year celebrations and launched the much-anticipated Visit Nepal Year 2025 campaign.
The vibrant ceremony featured cultural performances from both Nepal and China, symbolizing the strong bond between the two nations. A Chinese cultural troupe wowed the audience with traditional lion and dragon dances, while the Nepali side showcased the lively local Newari dance. A special highlight was the performance by 70 Nepali school students, who played the madal and baasuri to commemorate the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Nepal and China. This unique musical collaboration captivated the audience and added a significant cultural touch to the event.
The celebrations attracted a diverse group of attendees, including locals, tourists, and children, all of whom thoroughly enjoyed the vibrant cultural exchange. The Visit Nepal Year 2025 campaign aims to promote tourism, foster cultural ties, and encourage cooperation between Nepal and China.
As part of the ongoing initiative, Visit Nepal Year 2025 will highlight Nepal’s rich cultural heritage, stunning landscapes, and growing tourism infrastructure, welcoming travelers from all over the world.
