Tourist activity increases in Bhedetar

SUNSARI, Jan 02:The 'Food Festival' that has begun at the tourist destination Bhedetar has resulted in a considerable increase in the number of local and international visitors.

The food festival, which is organized by the Hotel Association Bhedetar and takes place every year on the occasion of the English New Year at the tourist destination Bhedetar on the boundary of Sunsari and Dhankuta districts, has grown in popularity.

The three-day festival, which runs until Thursday, will boost tourism, hotel industry, trade, and agriculture, according to the organizers. According to Tumraj Limbu, head of the festival's organizing committee, vegetables and fruits grown in local 'organic' farming methods, as well as cuisine specialties, handicrafts, agricultural tools, and items from cottage and small enterprises, will be on show.

He stated, "With the start of winter, the number of tourists visiting Bhedetar has continued to fall. We've been doing this type of festival every year following the English New Year to keep the market going. Given the existing scenario, it is projected that the number of tourists will rise this year.

The organizers have stated that during the festival, tourist sites such as Pathibhara Temple, Shankheshwor Temple, Namje's Atma Ghar and 'Home Stay' in Thumki, Suryodaya Bouddha Park, Simsuwa Waterfall, historical Sangurigadhi, and Dhoje Danda will be visited, as well as a skywalk arrangement.

According to Chairman Limbu, the festival is projected to attract 50,000 tourists and generate more than 30 million rupees in revenue.

According to the organizers, the festival will draw visitors from Dharan, Itahari, Biratnagar, Jhapa, Dhankuta, Bhojpur, Ilam, Tehrathum, Khotang, and other nearby districts, as well as cities in adjacent India such as Darjeeling and Siliguri.
