Bandipur Visit Year 2025 begins from today
TANAHUN, Jan 01:The Bandipur Visit Year 2025 began today.
Devendra Dahal, Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, today inaugurated the Bandipur Visit Year 2025, a campaign aimed at promoting tourism in the historic tourist city of Bandipur.
MP Bhagwati Neupane, Gandaki Provincial Assembly member Hari Bahadur Chuman, Ashok Kumar Shrestha, and others were in attendance.
Surendra Thapa, chairman of the rural municipality, stated that the visit year was planned with the goal of doubling the number of tourists visiting Bandipur annually. Every year, some 100,000 tourists visit the hilltop settlement.
A two-day package has been designed for tourists to see Bandipur, Chhimkeshowri, Manakamana, Gorkha Mandir, Ligligkot, and the birthplace of Bhanu Bhakta, he said.
Baisha Gurung, the Visit Year coordinator and tourism entrepreneur, stated that the goal is to attract tourists who can afford to stay and spend. Throughout the year, 24 cultural programs, literary events, and adventure events will be conducted, according to Gurung, coordinator of the Bandipur Visit Year-2025.
The Visit Year's goal is to study and explore Bandipur Bazaar's tangible and intangible cultural heritage, formally recognize, conserve, and manage it, and therefore promote mutual respect, harmony, and brotherhood from the local to the worldwide levels.
The local government has identified Khagadevi Mandir, Thanimai Mandir, Mahalaxmi Mandir, Siddagupha (holy cave), trekking/hiking trail, Thindhara, Tundikhel, waterfalls and foundations, Mani Mukundasen's palace, and Padam library as prominent tourist attractions in Bandipur.
Other sights in this hilltop village are Thani Mai Temple, Bindhyabasini Mandir, Raniban, Ramkot, and Sunkhari. The dwellings in tribal settlements are predominantly built in the Bhaktapure architectural style.
