Sichuan Airlines conducts promotional flights on Pokhara-Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, Dec 26:Sichuan Airlines operated a promotional flight. An Airbus 319 with 126 passengers arrived in Kathmandu from Pokhara on Thursday.

Sichuan Airlines has arrived from Chengdu to Pokhara with 129 passengers.

Pokhara-Kathmandu was the first international flight. Sichuan Airlines completed its maiden promotional flight, which is not commercial, according to Pradeep Adhikari, Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN).

According to Adhikari, this flight at full capacity has sent a message that the airport is technically sound and now others can also fly.

He stated that regular flights can be operated by narrow-body aircraft at Pokhara Airport. According to Pradeep Adhikari, Director General of the CAAN, this flight disproved the notion that flights are impossible due to hills and runways.

According to the CAAN, a promotional flight was conducted on Thursday to allow planes flying from Pokhara to transit to Kathmandu or fly directly from Pokhara.
