Rally to mark Yomari Punhi and Jyapu Day (Photo Feature)

A rally was held in Kathmandu on Sunday to mark Yomari Purnima and Jyapu Day.

The rally started at 10 a.m. from Watu. Participants in the rally dress in traditional Newari clothing and perform tableaux with Dhime. Sunita Dangol, Deputy Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, inaugurated the rally.

Today, the Newar community celebrates Yomari Purnima with delight as new rice arrives. Yomari is made with rice flour, chaku, and sesame.
