Buddha Air adds 19th ATR 72 aircraft to its fleet
KATHMANDU, Dec 08:The private airlines Buddha Air has added its 19th 'ATR' aircraft. The additional aircraft landed in Kathmandu on Friday.
Buddha Air has introduced a 72-seat 'ATR72-500' aircraft. According to a statement, Buddha Air plans to bring the new aircraft into service at the end of December after completing the relevant documentation.
Buddha Air has acquired an aircraft with the registration number '9N-AOG' from ATR Company Toulouse, France. Buddha Air currently operates three 'ATR42-320' and sixteen 'ATR72-500' class aircraft.
The company recently retired an ATR-42-320 aircraft.
Buddha Air noted that the new aircraft was added in line with its goal to making air travel easier and simpler. Rupesh Joshi, the company's marketing director, stated that with a considerable rise in the number of flights and inexpensive pricing, consumers will be able to fly when it is convenient for them.
"We are committed to operating the flight schedule with maximum efficiency," he told.
The company stated that the additional aircraft will also aid in routine maintenance. Buddha Air currently conducts around 140 domestic flights each day.
Internationally, it conducts three flights each week from Kathmandu to Varanasi, India. Similarly, it offers flights from Pokhara to Chitwan, Bhairahawa, and Nepalgunj.
