Tourism Minister inspects TIA at midnight and directs expansion construction
KATHMANDU, Dec 07:Badri Prasad Pandey, the Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, inspected the international airport at midnight on Monday. The inspection, which began after the airport closed for maintenance at 10pm on Monday, continued until 1 am on Tuesday.
On-site observation that the parallel taxiway, international apron, and hangar apron were all under construction. Monday night, the delegation, which included the Tourism Minister, evaluated the work being done to increase the airport's capacity.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN)'s Air Transport Capacity Enhancement Project is developing smoothly, with the extension of the parallel taxiway on the southwest side of the airport, the international apron on the north side, and the hangar apron on the east side.
Minister Pandey has directed that the various activities being carried out to improve the airport's capacity be completed on time and within the prescribed timeline.
He also stated that the work is progressing at a brisk rate and that he is optimistic that it will be completed on schedule. He also stated that carrying out construction work on a war footing by successfully deploying a big number of different human resources and equipment will send a message that the construction project work can be finished with the required quality and on schedule.
