IME’s crorepati winner Ms. Parmila Rokaya receives Rs 10 million
KATHMANDU:Pramila Rokaya, the winner of the 'IME Crorepati Campaign', received a cheque for Rs 10 million.
Parmila Rokaya, winner of 'IME Garaun Crorepati Banau' campaign, was awarded a cheque for Rs 10 million on November 30. The award ceremony took place at Nakano Shiki No Mori Park in Tokyo, Japan.
Ms. Rokaya, a resident of Kailali, Godavari, Nepal, had sent money to her family through Kyodai Remittance, Japan, using IME as her preferred remittance partner. She was selected as the grand prize winner through a lucky draw conducted by IME’s Brand Ambassador, Miss Deepa Shree Niraula, last Ashwin.
Upon receiving the cheque, Ms. Rokaya expressed her immense joy and gratitude, stating, “Sending money through IME has turned me into a millionaire. I plan to use this prize money to build a house for my parents in Kailali.”
The cheque was jointly presented to Ms. Rokaya by H.E. Dr. Durga Bahadur Subedi Ambassador of Nepal to Japan, Mr. Sushil Thapa from IME Limited, and Mr. Yuichiro Kimoto from Kyodai – Japan.
IME has also launched a new campaign “IME Garaun Udhyami Banau”, an initiative of transforming remittances from mere consumption support into a catalyst for long-term growth and prosperity. Announcing the campaign, IME’s Chair Mr. Hem Raj Dhakal shared that this initiative aims to encourage migrant workforce, remittance-receiving households and the community to use remittances productively, fostering entrepreneurship and driving development of a sustainable economy. It inspires migrant workforce to earn, save and establish their own businesses back home.
Mr. Dhakal emphasized the importance of linking remittances with entrepreneurship to promote sustainable economic growth.
Highlighting the crucial role of skills acquired abroad in fostering entrepreneurship within the country, he urged both overseas workforce and remittance-receiving families to invest in productive sectors, ensuring not only individual success but also the nation’s long-term development.
IME Limited’s CEO, Mr. Diwakar Paudel, expressed optimism that this campaign will encourage customers to use formal remittance channels, invest in enterprises, and adopt digital transactions through IME Pay.
