Akama Hotel to operate under brand 'Ramada by Wyndham'
KATHMANDU, Nov 25:The Akama Hotel in Dhumbarahi, Kathmandu, own by the Sanima Group will soon be operated under the American brand 'Ramada by Wyndham'.
Last year, the group entered into an arrangement with an American multinational hotel management network. From December, the hotel will be operated under the American brand 'Ramada by Wyndham'.
Nepal is a tourism destination. Given the recent commercial competitiveness in the hotel market, we will begin formal cooperation with Ramada on December 15," said Vinay Kumar Shrestha, the group's CEO.
He informed us that hotel occupancy and room prices will increase by 20 percent with the management of the international chain. According to him, the hotel, which has 108 rooms, is currently at 50% occupancy. The average price per accommodation is presently 85 US dollars (about 11,500 rupees).
The hotel opened six months before Covid-19. Since then, competition in the business has intensified," Shrestha explained. "After the arrival of the international brand, we have cooperated with Ramada with the hope that it will help in promotion along with the excellent management."
The hotel and the American company Ramada have reached a 25-year hotel management deal.
Akama Hotel spans 9 ropani of land and includes 108 rooms and 200 beds, including Superior 95, Deluxe 6, Deluxe Suite 4, Family Suite 2, and Presidential Suite 1. Currently, 130 staff of various levels work in the hotel.
