Himalaya Airlines announced will not sell tickets on highest fares

KATHMANDU, Nov 23:Himalaya Airlines, a private sector international airline, has announced that it will not sell tickets at the highest fares.

Himalaya Airlines announced on Friday that it will no longer sell tickets at the highest class cost, citing accusations that it has been charged exorbitant fees for flights from Kathmandu to several overseas locations as a result of Tribhuvan International Airport's daily closure of 10 hours.

According to the company, the 'Y' class cost is the highest fare in the standard economy class. To give travelers with more inexpensive costs, the decision has been made not to sell tickets at the highest class fare beginning November 21.

Himalaya Airlines stated that it has set tariffs within the extent of its seat capacity in order to control the black market in flight tickets while still providing affordable fares for the general public flying abroad.

All 'Group TBA' (group purchase) bookings have been suspended from November 10 till further notice, in accordance with the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation's regulations and the consent of all international airlines operating in Nepal.

Himalaya Airlines has advised all travel companies to sell tickets at the lowest possible profit margin.

Similarly, the company says to send email to travel companies at least twice a week and will take legal action if anyone is discovered to be black marketing.
