Pantomime Performance by Austrian Artists in Kathmandu
KATHMANDU, Nov 22:Talented Austrian artists Mariana de Meo and Roman Maria Müller have captivated audiences with a mesmerizing pantomime performance in Kathmandu.
The event was performed at Patan Muesem, Patan Durbar Square.The event, organized by the Austrian Embassy, New Delhi, aimed to enhance people-to-people relations and foster mutual understanding between Austria and Nepal through the medium of art and culture.
This cultural initiative is expected to add a new dimension to the strong ties that exist between Austria and Nepal. “Diplomacy goes beyond politics and economics; it also flourishes through cultural exchange, building understanding and strengthening friendships between nations." says the Austrian Honorary Consul in Nepal, Mr Rajesh Babu Shrestha. He further emphasized that such programs play a crucial role in fostering knowledge of each other’s cultural identities, and Austria's commitment to its friendship with Nepal.
The event was generously sponsored by the Manakamana Cable Car and supported by The Honarary Austrian Consulate in Nepal. The performance was attended by Michael Pal, director of the Austrian Cultural Forum at the Austrian Embassy in New Delhi, along with his wife, Irena Pal.
Pantomime, a theatrical performance conveys stories through facial expressions and body language.
The Austrian Embassy has successfully organized several cultural exchange programs in the past and would continue to do it in future as well.
