"Hotel Yak & Yeti Celebrates Winter with Iconic Chimney Lighting Ceremony"
KATHMANDU, Nov 16:Hotel Yak & Yeti continued its long-awaited annual ritual this Thursday through the Chimney Lighting Ceremony at the historic Chimney Restaurant. This event has its roots in the legendary past of the restaurant, celebrating its cultural and culinary legacy in Kathmandu.
An exceptional gathering of esteemed dignitaries, ambassadors, and loyal patrons officially heralded winter this year's ceremony of the lighting of the copper chimney, a continuing tradition to honor the heritage of the Chimney Restaurant, founded by the great Boris Lisanevich. Hanan Goder-Goldberger, the Ambassador of the State of Isreal to Nepal, officially lit the flame, symbolizing a warm interconnection between the hotel and its patrons.
Warmth and elegance encapsulated the entire evening, while a line-up of selected premium menu items included Braised Lamb Shank, Chicken Ala Kiev, Burrata Risotto Ala Primavera, and of course, the ever-dramatic Baked Alaska-flambé. All these were complemented by equally well-chosen wines to further charm the evening. “We are honored to preserve this cherished tradition that connects generations and celebrates the Chimney Restaurant’s cultural and culinary heritage,” a Hotel Yak & Yeti spokesperson said during the event.
The Lighting of the Chimney thus becomes one of the highlights in Kathmandu's winter calendar, blending history and hospitality into an unparalleled culinary show. The hotel plans on further strengthening its bonds with its dear guests and has many events planned for the next 2 months beginning with the Bengali Food Festival (16th - 30th November).
