Nawalparasi tourism entrepreneurs protest CNP's plan to relocate rhinos

NAWALPARASI, Nov 16:Nawalparasi East-based tourism entrepreneurs have protested against to Chitwan National Park's (CNP) plan to relocate six one-horned rhinos from Nawalparasi to Chitwan. They submitted a memorandum to Chief District Officer Arun Pokharel on Sunday.

The memorandum was submitted jointly by six Nawalpur-based environmental and tourism organizations. In their letter, they demand that rhinoceros transfers be halted because they will harm Nawalpur's biological variety, ecological balance, and tourism business.

The attention letter states that rhinoceroses should be handled properly by using scientific approaches to reduce human-wildlife conflict rather than translocation.

The Nawalpur Hoteliers Association, Nawalpur Tourism Committee, Nature Guide Association Nawalpur, Historic Kawasoti Lake Conservation Committee, Green Society, and Kawasoti Hoteliers Association City Committee jointly submitted a letter of attention.
