TIA served 6.8 million passengers in nine months

KATHMANDU, Nov 14:In the first nine months of 2024, 6.838 million passengers flew through Tribhuvan International Airport. According to Tribhuvan International Airport, 3.28 million passengers traveled domestically and 3.63 million passengers internationally.

Twenty domestic airlines, including helicopters, and 29 international carriers transported passengers during this period. Buddha Air is the largest domestic passenger carrier, and Qatar Airways is the largest international carrier.

In the first nine months, Buddha Air alone carried 1.956 million passengers on 35,102 flights. This represents more than 60% of total domestic passengers.

Similarly, Qatar Airways flew 450,000 people across 1,836 flights. Nepal Airlines Corporation, which is in second position, flew 411,000 people on 2,348 trips.

In the first nine months, Tribhuvan International  Airport reported 24,801 international flights arriving. Of these, 1.919 million passengers reached to various countries on 12,398 aircraft.
