Discussion on increasing religious tourists in Janakpur
JANAKPUR, Nov 08:On the occasion of the Chhath festival, which is celebrated with great pomp in the Mithila region, Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Badri Pandey discussed how to increase religious tourism in Janakpur.
He also reached the holy Janakpurdham on Thursday, offering Chhathi Mai Puja and exchanging Chhath greetings with devotees gathering at the Chhath Ghat near Janakpur city.
At the same time, Minister Pandey spoke with the leaders, as well as the people's representatives, about expanding religious tourism by promoting Janpur's religious relevance in other nations around the world.
He also considered upgrading Janakpur's airport to attract religious tourists, similar to Gautam Buddha International Airport in Bhairahawa.
Minister Pandey also observed the Janakpur Airport on Thursday. During the airport monitoring, he also raised the flag on airport premises. The minister also inaugurated the airport's water fountain.
On that occasion, Manish Jha, a House of Representatives member, told Minister Pandey about the Chhath Ghat and other Janakpur construction projects.
