Buddha Air issued a flight guideline

KATHMANDU, Nov 06:Tribhuvan International Airport to be closed for about 5 months and 10 hours for expansion. From Friday, November 8, 'Notice to Airmen' (NOTAM) has been issued for about 5 months, from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM.

Buddha Air, a private sector airline company has issued a flying guideline after the flight duration was reduced owing to the upgrade of Tribhuvan International Airport.

Buddha Air believes that after  the upgrading will be various facilities for aircraft and traffic movement.

Buddha Air stated that the current schedule is reasonable as the monsoon, that will be active afte a few months, could hinder the upgrade.

During the winter season, regular operations are affected due to fog and low visibility at most of the airports.

Even if the IFR destination is a night flight, it must be completed by 10 p.m. Similarly, VFR destinations should be accomplished during daylight hours, depending on visibility. Otherwise, the likelihood of flight cancelation stays the same.

Buddha Air has enough planes to fly on schedule, although flights are occasionally delayed due to inclement weather or air traffic.

The company's 6-point guideline states that, while there are enough planes to take off on schedule, the flight may be delayed due to bad weather or air traffic. For these reasons, Buddha Air has made a specific request that passengers report to the airport check-in counter at the time specified in their tickets.

The check-in counter at that location will close 15 minutes before the flight time. If the airport opens late due to inclement weather or air traffic, flights may be cancelled. If this occurs, the company has said that the ticket will be rescheduled for the following day, depending on seat availability.

The refund process for canceled tickets will take three to four days. The airline has stated that if the trip is canceled due to air traffic or a lack of time, it will not give a 'delay timetable' for the next day.

Buddha Air spokesperson Dipendra Kumar Karna said that it will be more convenient for the passengers who have a connecting flight to the international side, if they take a ticket with a wider time gap or a day in advance.
