Air service resume at Simikot airport after three days
NEPALGUNJ, Nov 05:After three days, flights resumed at Humla's Simkot airport. Even though the weather was clear, there had been no air flight since the day of Laxmi Puja.
The Simkot airport office informed that the private airlines and government-owned airlines Nepal Airlines, which operates flights from Nepalgunj, only flew on Monday due to a shortage of flight schedule. On Monday, Tara Air and Nepal Airlines flew from Nepalgunj to Simkot.
The airport stated that Tara Air and Nepal Airlines each conducted one flight from Nepalgunj on Monday. Both airlines transported daily products and other goods from Nepalgunj, along with passengers. Other Sita Air and Summit Air have been unable to fly for three days.
The planes departing from Nepalganj are flying to Humla in accordance with their schedule. Nepal Airlines will fly from Nepalgunj on Tuesday, as per its flight schedule.
With the end of Dashain, Tihar, Nepal's major festival, the number of passengers leaving the district from Simkot is progressively growing. At this time, it is reported that the number of passengers arriving in Humla from Nepalgunj and Surkhet is low, but the number of passengers leaving the district from Humla is the same. The Simkot Airport Office said that Sita Air and Summit Air did not fly on Monday.
