Sel roti-making competition at NTB
KATHMANDU, Nov 04:A sel roti making competition was organized at the Nepal Tourism Board's premises in Kathmandu to commemorate Tihar.
In collaboration with Trinity Marketing and Event Management, Nepal Tourism Board, Journalists Association for Tourism Nepal (JAT-Nepal), Chef Association of Nepal, Women Entrepreneurs Association, Woollen Goods Development Association, and others held a sel roti making competition.
Devi Prasad Pant, President of JAT-Nepal, stated that the tournament was launched to encourage tourism by reviving the traditional meal Selroti.
Sabitri Dhungana, the competition's coordinator, stated that the competition showcased Nepali women's original skills.
The competition featured 26 women from 13 distinct communities in the Kathmandu Valley. Rice was distributed to the first, second, and third place winners of the competition.
The competition was judged by Shyam Lama, past president of the Chef Association of Nepal and director of the Chef Association Foundation, Senior Chef Ratna Bahadur Thapa and Padam Alemgar, General Secretary of the Chef Association of Nepal.
They informed about the things that should be taken care of while making Sel roti and the ingredients that can be mixed.
