Tourists receive Bhaitika in Pokhara

POKHARA, Nov 04:On the occasion of Tihar, 56 tourists from 12 countries participated the 17th Bhaitika festival, which was organized by the Hotel Association Pokhara Nepal on Sunday at Pokhara's lakeside. Due of the significant presence of tourists, they were tika in three phases.

Laxman Subedi, president of the organizing Hotel Association Pokhara Nepal and festival coordinator, stated that the event was created to promote tourism while conserving Nepali culture. 

Rainbow Children Home Nepal students escorted saptarangi tika (seven-colored tika) and flower garlands for the tourists at Hotel Landmark.

The students put on Dhaka topi (caps) for the tourists who had received Saptarangi Tika and offered various foods, including sel roti. Along with this, Deusibhailo and dance performances were shown. Participating tourists had a good time dancing and singing. A Chinese tourist, Lila, who gave her Nepali name, said she enjoyed getting to wear Bhaitika and that Pokhara was equally lovely to her.

Rajendra Dhakal, the association's general secretary, reported that tourists from Israel, Russia, China, Poland, America, the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, India, and Japan attended the event. 

This festival was organized under the slogan 'Let's Save Culture, Let's Promote Tourism'. Subedi, the association's president, expressed hope that the festival will encourage tourists to come again to Pokhara through offering them with festival information in the same way as they receive tika from their sisters home.

The program was conducted by General Secretary Dhakal. The festival was promoted by the Nepal Tourism Board and the Pokhara Metropolitan City. Gorkha Beer and esewa Hotels sponsored the celebration. The online partner has the Reveal app.
