'Rara Resort' construction process went conducted
KATHMANDU, Oct 27:The building of the 'Dream Project' Rara Resort has made substantial progress as a result of agreements reached at the government-organized investment conference.
Investors have stated that work has begun after the Nepalese government issued a preliminary study permit (IEE) for the development of the Rara Resort, which will be built in Mugu's Rara Lake area and is backed by Australian investment.
On Monday, the Department of Tourism approved the resort's construction, which would include 62 rooms and 98 beds spread across 19 structures.
The hotel estimated cost around 2 billion rupees and is being developed by Australia's Expert Group in collaboration with Nepal's Rara Holdings Resort Pvt Ltd.
Rara Holdings, the Nepalese partner in the resort, which will be the primary investment of Expert Group, will be represented by Abhishek Bikram Shah.
The resort will cover an area of 80 ropani in Mugu's Chhaya Nath Rara Municipality, notably Murma Top. Director Shah indicated that a complete project study has been developed, with the goal of completing the resort within one and a half years. The structure will use local resources and represent the local culture.
"The Department of Tourism has recently granted IEE approval for the project," Shah informed. "We will now complete additional procedures and move into the construction phase shortly."
Local stakeholders believe that the resort's development will be a big step forward for the Rara region's progress.
