Ghorepani to provides domestic tourists 10% discount
MYAGDI, Oct 22:Hoteliers in Ghorepani, a tourist destination in Annapurna rural municipality-6 of Myagdi, have begun providing discounts to domestic travelers.
The Ghorepani Tole Sudhar Samiti, Hotel Management, and Tourism Management Sub-Committee met on Thursday and resolved to grant a 10% discount to domestic tourists visiting during festivals such as Dashain, Tihar, and Chhath.
Julie Thakuri Pun, Vice President of Ghorepani Tole Sudhar Samiti, informed that Nepalese tourists will receive a 10% discount on their total expenditure beginning Thursday.
"For the promotion of domestic tourism, we have decided to give discounts to all the hotels here," she reported. "During the festival, guests will get discounts at all the hotels in Ghorepani."
Pun stated that by restoring the road obstructed by the landslide at Ghoptekhark, the Pokhrebagar-Ghorepani route was made accessible to jeeps and motorcyclists. Aside from vehicles, one can reach Ghorepani by walking through Kaski's Ulleri, Ghandruk, Myagdi's Mohredanda, and Bhukdeurali in the mountains.
Ghorepani's 26 tiny hotels, located 2,800 meters above sea level, can accommodate 1,200 people per day. The package includes comfortable rooms ranging from 1500 to 5000 per person.
The Ghorepani Poonhill area in Annapurna rural municipality-6 of Myagdi is an ideal location for viewing the mountains, mountain morphology, sunrise, and Gurans forest. Punhill, located at an elevation of 3,210 meters above sea level, is considered the best tourist site on the Annapurna Trekking Trail. Poonhill offers a great view of the mountain range as well as the sunrise.
From here, one can see more than a dozen summits in the Dhaualagiri and Annapurna ranges. Tourists choose the Ghodepani Poonhil area for its picturesque views, high mountain topography, and peaceful atmosphere.
Ghorepani's hotel room and dining hall, located at the foot of Poonhill, offer a view of the mountains in the background of Gurans Forest. Tourists staying in Ghorepani trek uphill for approximately 40 minutes in the morning to Poonhill for sightseeing. According to tourism authorities, Ghorepani Poonhill is the preferred lodging option for tourists traveling the Annapurna Circuit route.
Ghorepani can be reached from Pokhara, the capital of Gandaki province, via Naya Pul, Ulleri in one day and Ghandruk in two days. Ghorepani can be reached in three hours by car from Beni, the headquarters of Myagdi through Pokhrebgar of Annapurna rural municipality.
