Two airlines received permission to operate regular international flights from GBIA

KATHMANDU, Oct 21:Gautam Buddha International Airport in Bhairahawa will  finally have regular International commercial flights.

After the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) closed Tribhuvan Airport for 10 hours per day for taxiway construction, international airlines are preparing to fly to Gautam Buddha International Airport.

Two airlines have received permission for regular commercial flights at Gautam Buddha International Airport, while one is in the process of obtaining permit. Jazeera Airways and Fly Dubai have received permission from CAAN.

CAAN Information Officer Gyanendra Bhul informed that Fly Dubai is permitted to fly Dubai-Bhairahawa-Kathmandu-Dubai, while Jazeera Airways is permitted to fly Bhairahawa-Kuwait.

"We have allowed Jazeera and Fly Dubai to operate regular commercial flights from Bhairahawa." "Both airlines have informed us that they will begin flights soon," Bhul said. "In Bhairahawa, Jazeera will make a direct flight and Fly Dubai will make a touchdown flight."

Kuwait's Jazeera Airways will begin a two-way direct service from Gautam Buddha International Airport to Kuwait on October 28. Bhul said that the plane had received clearance to land in Bhairahawa at 7:30 a.m. and fly to Kuwait at 8:30 a.m.

According to him, the company will run three flights per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturday. The airline now operates seven weekly flights to Kathmandu. Society International serves as the airline's official GSA in Nepal. 

Fly Dubai flights will arrive at Gautam Buddha International Airport from Abu Dhabi. Fly Dubai plane will travel from there to Kathmandu and then to Abu Dhabi. Fly Dubai has received permission to fly touchdown flights seven days a week beginning November 9.

According to him, Fly Dubai's flight arrives at Bhairahawa at 2:30 p.m. From there, it will fly to Kathmandu at 3:00 PM. CAAN approved Fly Dubai's schedule to  fly from Kathmandu to Abu Dhabi at 4 p.m. Fly Dubai operates two daily flights from Kathmandu. Universal Tours and Travels is the general sales agent (GSA) of the Fly Dubai.
