Global IME Bank collaborates with Austria's University of Innsbruck on BEEN Project

KATHMANDU:Global IME Bank and Austria's University of Innsbruck are in agreement to collaborate on the Building Energy Efficiency in Nepal (BEEN) project. Under the SWITCH Asia Grant Programme, with financial backing from the European Union, an agreement was reached to promote energy-efficient technology and practices for the construction of sustainable housing developments through the BEEN project.

The agreement was signed by Mr. Ashim Karmacharya, the bank's Head of Green and Sustainable Banking, and Dr. Daniel Nair, the University of Innsbruck's representative and project head in Austria.

Global IME Bank has been establishing a 'Green Home financing' unique financing strategy to encourage sustainable housing. According to the bank, the agreement will help improve technical skills and promote sustainable and energy-efficient structures.

Global IME Bank offers services through 354 branch locations, 384 ATMs, 255 branchless banking services, 68 extension and revenue collection counters, and three international representative offices.
