Rajesh Hamal and Priyanka Karki goodwill ambassadors of Int’l Balloon Festival
KATHMANDU, Oct 10:Actor Rajesh Hamal and actress Priyanka Karki have been signed as goodwill ambassadors of the International Balloon Festival.
They were announced as Goodwill Ambassadors for this festival, which will be held for the first time in Nepal, at an event held in Kathmandu on Saturday.
In the program, Hamal shared his 25-year experience shooting a film in Kathmandu while soaring in a balloon. He stated the possibility of collaborating with the Balloon Nepal team on the next film project.
He stated that adventure has begun to gain relevance in all aspects of tourism, including hiking. He also stated that the festival will bring a new dimension to Nepal's tourism.
Actress Karki stated that she has had numerous adventures in Pokhara, including paragliding, and has agreed to collaborate with the hope that balloons will bring a different type of pleasure.
An international balloon festival will be conducted for the first time in Nepal's tourism center, Pokhara, in conjunction with Balloon Nepal and Rizmatic Entertainment.
The festival will be held between the 9th and 16th of January to commemorate Christmas and the English New Year.
Commercial balloon company from 30 nations, including Nepal, will take part in the festival.
Five hot-air balloons will be operated on behalf of Balloon Nepal. Bibi Dhakal, the company's director, announced that 25 countries, including Spain, France, America, the United Kingdom, Latvia, Germany, Laos, Austria, South Korea, and Italy, will participate.
The festival will be held in an area of three kilometers from Lauruk in Pokhara to Pame in Changkhpur.
Bikram Bade, Chairman of Balloon Nepal Pvt. Ltd., stated that preparations for the festival are ongoing. He stated that they expect the festival to offer a new dimension to Pokhara tourism and improve tourist activities.
According to him, the festival will help to revive the country's tourism industry, which had stalled during the Corona pandemic, and bring more new local and global tourists to Pokhara.
The festival will also have a DJ session within the balloon, which will serve as the main attraction, according to the company. According to the company, entertainment will be offered in the form of hot air balloon-themed games, such as balloon glow by flying balloons at night.
