US national missing during ascent of Mount Kumbhakarna

KATHMANDU, Oct 10:An American citizen went missing while climbing Mount Kumbhakarna (Januu) in Phattanglung rural municipality-6 of Taplejung.

Michael Gardner, an American citizen with the US passport '664556651', went missing while climbing Kumbakarna Himal, which is 7,710 meters high, according to officials.

According to Police Inspector Rohit Kumar Sharma of District Police Office Taplejung, Gardner went missing on October 7th while climbing the mountain and disappeared due to severe winds. Police from Ghunsa have also been mobilized to searching for him.

According to the police officers, Gardner traveled to Kumbakarna Himal with Grand Himalaya Treks & Expedition Pvt Ltd. On October 6, Gardner stayed at the Sherpa guest house in Ghussa, and then went mountain climbing. The police officers stated that they are searching for him.
