Domestic flights on Dashain start at 4:30 am
KATHMANDU, Oct 06:Air traffic has increased as a result of road traffic disruptions caused by floods and landslides. The government raised the number of night flights in due to an increase in the number of passengers traveling to various districts across the country.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has decided to commence flight times at nine airports, including Kathmandu, at 4:30 a.m.
The CAAN has made arrangements for flights to take off at 4:30 a.m. to fulfill the demand of passengers returning home during the floods and the festive season till October 16th.
Gyanendra Bhul, CAAN's information officer, informed us that flights from nine airports, including Tribhuvan International Airport, will begin at 4:30 am. He stated that flights from airports equipped with IFR technology are typically operated after 6 a.m., but would now be operated beginning at 4:30 am.
Tribhuvan International Airport, Gautam Buddha International Airport, Pokhara International Airport, Simara Airport, Chandragathi Airport, Biratnagar Airport, Janakpur Airport, Nepalgunj Airport, and Dhangadhi Airport will all operate from 4:30 a.m. to their regular night schedules, with extensions as needed, from Ghatasthapana to Dashain Purnima.
More than 500 domestic flights take place every day as a result of damage to the country's road infrastructure, including major highways.
Flights from the airport have been allowed from early morning to meet the demands of a huge number of passengers leaving Kathmandu for Dashain.
