Thai Air Asia started regular flight from Bangkok to Kathmandu
KATHMANDU, Oct 04:Thai Air Asia has started regular flights between Bangkok and Kathmandu. Thai Air Asia, which started regular flights on Wednesday, will now fly four days a week on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.
The company has made daily flight plans according to passenger occupancy. Santisuk Klongchaiya, the CEO of the company, expressed his belief that flights will play an important role in strengthening not only the air communication network between Nepal and Thailand but also the cultural and people-to-people relations between the two countries.
He said that there are plans to expand the service to Bhairahawa, Pokhara, and other international airports in Nepal and necessary preparations are being made for that.
The Thai AirAsia flight from Bangkok landed at Tribhuvan International Airport at 2:00 PM with 156 passengers and left for Bangkok at 4:00 PM.
The company has started regular commercial flights using Airbus A-320 Neo series aircraft.
Thai Air Asia had started booking one-way flights for a month at Rs 10,000. The company has been operating regular commercial flights to more than 130 destinations around the world.
Thai Air Asia's General Sales Agent (GSA) for Nepal is Universal Travel & Tours. The managing director of the Universal Travel & Tours, Parasar Prasai, said that they have cooperated with Thai Air Asia with the aim of bringing more tourists to Nepal.
The company has also received permission to fly 4 times a week from Bhairahawa. Prasai said that some representatives of the airlines will visit Bhairahawa airport for inspection and plan to fly there soon.
