Yoga Festival to be place in Pokhara beginning October 16th
KATHMANDU, Oct 01:The Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) will host the four-day Yoga Festival for the first time in Nepal. The HAN will conduct a festival in Pokhara from October 16 to 19.
The festival will take hosted at Purna Yoga Retreat Center in Pokhara. The festival will be organized in cooperation with the Nepal Yoga Festival.
Binayak Shah, President of HAN, stated that if the yoga and tourism industries are developed, the country's entire tourism sector will grow. "We are going to organize a yoga festival in Pokhara for the first time in collaboration with yoga experts," said Shah.
He stated that there is a plan to promote yoga tourism in Nepal on an international scale in the near future.
According to yoga instructor Manohar Shrestha, combining yoga and tourism will benefit the country's tourism industry. He stated that the festival will be held because there is a demand for yoga in Nepal, and the importance of yoga has grown globally following the Covid-19 pandemic.
The organizer, Lata Tulachan, stated that Nepal has a lot of potential for yoga, from the Himalayas to the Terai. He stated that wellness tourism, including yoga, will make a substantial contribution to the country's overall tourism.
Also, Sajan Shakya, General Secretary of HAN, stated that this program is vital to the country's long-term development of tourism.
15 foreign trainers and presenters will attend the festival.
According to HAN, yoga will cost 3000 rupees per day for Nepalis and 6500 rupees for foreign tourists.
The festival project is estimated to be expected to cost 45 lakhs.
The HAN has also planned a package for the entire festival season.
