45th World Tourism Day: Various organizations and people honored for their contributions to tourism

KATHMANDU, Sep 29:On the occasion of the 45th World Tourism Day, many organizations and people were honored. 

The government selected three homestays as the 'Tourism Village of the Year' in honor of the 45th World Tourism Day. The Village Tourism Promotion Forum (VITOF) Nepal honored three homestays as tourism villages of the year. Among them are Sabhapokhari community homestay in Sankhuwasabha Sabhapokhari rural municipality-3 Triveni market, Chailing community homestay in Dhading Benighat Rolang village-8 Chailing village, and Timure community homestay in Gulmi Chandrakot rural municipality-4.

On Tourism Day, the government honored Himalaya Encounter Pvt Ltd, Sita World Travel Pvt Ltd, Everest Hospitality & Hotel, Himalaya Sky Drive Pvt Ltd, Nepal Airlines Corporation, American Embassy, and Sintamani Resort Mustang based on their sector.

Shyam Bahadur Pandey and Ambika Shrestha have been honored (posthumously). Binayak Shah, President of the Hotel Association of Nepal (HAN), Shiva Adhikari, President of the Nepal Association of Rafting Agencies (NARA), Nima Rinji Sherpa, Phunjo Jhangmu Lama, Purnima Shrestha, Chhiring Pande Bhote, Ang Tashi Sherpa, Captain Bibek Khadka, Rabindra Man Singh Pradhan, Si Chui, Saroj Bhatia, Phurpa Sherpa, Nim Bahadur Magar, Min Bahadur Bham, Buddha Air, and Priprahar Community Homestay Village in Nawalparasi were honored. 

Similarly, the Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) honored the top five companies that sell the most TEAMS cards: Royal Mountain Pvt Ltd, Raika Tours and Treks, International Trekkers, Three Sisters Adventure, and Divine International.
