Tourism minister issues nine-point direction to rescue tourists in trouble

KATHMANDU, Sep 29: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey has directed the authorities concerned to rescue the tourists facing problems in different parts of the country due to incessant rain.     

An emergency meeting with the chiefs and representatives of the ministry's concerned bodies and the heads and representatives of the tourism and civil aviation sector-related business organizations issued various nine-point directives, according to Ministry spokesperson and joint secretary Ram Krishna Lamichhane.     

It has urged the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) and concerned airlines to make necessary coordination to make arrangements for effective mobilization of tourist police for the immediate rescue of tourists and to make arrangements so that there is no additional charge for the movement of tickets of passengers who have left international flights due to disruption of domestic flights.
