8th edition of South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) have officially commenced

KATHMANDU, Sep 19:Activities for the 8th edition of South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) have officially commenced. This year’s SATA Gala & Awards features an impressive slate of over 400 nominations and is being held at both The Malla Hotel and Aloft Kathmandu Thamel. The Malla Hotel will host two of the event activities, while the Gala is scheduled for Friday, September 20, at Aloft Kathmandu Thamel.

With participation from over 200 delegates in the South Asian travel fraternity, SATA is proud to celebrate its 8th successful edition this year. The Awards are dedicated to appreciating and recognizing exceptional contributions within the hospitality sector across South Asia.

A noteworthy aspect of SATA is the absence of fees for nominations; each nominee is required to present to a multinational jury annually. Additionally, jury members travel to more than eight cities across South Asia to evaluate participants, ensuring a thorough assessment of the region’s hospitality offerings.

SATA 2024 is held in Kathmandu with the support of the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and the Hotel Association  Nepal. This year's prominent partners include Gulfcraft as the Platinum Partner, with Hotels & Resorts Investments Maldives (HARIM), Velana International Airport, and The Hawks serving as Gold Partners. Bizspoke and Resort Life Travel are recognized as Silver Partners, while Allied Insurance is the Insurance Partner for this edition.

Since its inception in 2016, SATA Awards events have been hosted in various locations, including Mount Lavinia, Galle, Male’ Atoll, Addu City, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and now, Kathmandu.
