Only seven international flights from Pokhara International Airport

KATHMANDU, Sep 16:Pokhara International Airport, which was built with billions of loan inputs, has only seen seven international flights to date.

The Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers produced an annual status report on the government's policies and programs (FY 2023/24) that revealed only seven international flights.

The airport, built with 22 billion subsidized loans from the Chinese government, opened on January 1, 2023 (FY 2022/23). The airport was designed to accommodate six international flights daily.

However, there were two international flights between December 16th and July 15th in fiscal year 2022/23. In the fiscal year 2023/24, a target of 50 international flights was planned, however only five flights were completed.
